Regional Centre of Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University, Kalady

Payyanur region can aptly be called as the nucleus of Sanskrit, Jyothisha and Vedic Studies. This is the only regional centre of Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University, Kalady in North Malabar. In spite of  the limitations and inadequacies of the infantry stage this  is one of the pioneer centre of the University. This centre is established in 1995. Currently this centre is situated near to Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in a temporary building..
