Govt. Residential Women's Polytechnic

Government Residential Women’s Polytechnic, Payyanur, which is the only one of its kind, was established in 1991 under the WBATEP (World Bank Assisted Technical Education Project).  This institution is located at the beautiful landscape at Muthiyalam, which is only about three kilometers from Payyanur Town.

Courses Offered

The following four emerging level diploma courses are offered here. 

Electronics and Communication Engineering	Computer Engineering
Computer Applications and Business Management	Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

These diploma courses are conducted in semester system which follows the Multipoint Entry and Credit System (MPEC).    This institution and all its   courses are recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). A total of 60 seats each in CE, EC and EI branches and 50 seats in CABM are offered here.  The present strength of the students is around 550.
