A dream comes true...

Even though there are a number of hospitals, the availability of hi-tech super specialty hospitals remains as a dream to the people of North Malabar. People of these areas are depending on the private hospitals in Mangalore and Manipal of Karnataka State to get the quality healthcare. Lack of a Cardio specialty center, trauma care center in these areas have taken the lives of many. The long cherished dream of the people of North Malabar of having an advanced health care centre in their vicinity came into reality when there was a move to establish a Medical College and a Super Specialty hospital in the Co-operative Sector and Pariyaram was selected as the location for this massive project.  The venture was under the leadership of  M.V. Raghavan, the then minister  for Co-operation , Govt. of Kerala. 

The Multi Specialty hospital which is placed in a land of 150 acres of lush greenery with  natural surroundings, on the National Highway 17 , hardly 10 kilometers from Payyanur Town.  The huge buildings are nearing completion  and the construction is carried out by Larsen and Toubro Construction Co.   The management of this hospital as well as medical college was later taken over by Government of Kerala.  

Once completed this dream project will have  1000 bedded super specialty hospital with all the ultra modern facilities, a 300 bedded Trauma care unit, Cardiology , Cardio Thoracic Surgery and such advanced facilities and then this will be the second largest hospital in Asia  (first being  AIIMS  New Delhi).
