Payyanur is the land of colourful festivals. During the period of December to April the temples and kavus of Payyanur and nearby villages become eventful with various Kaliyattam and Perumkaliyattam at the Temples, Bagavathy Kavus and Tharavadu Shrines. The community keeps the rituals with all its sanctity and devotion. Various types of Theyyams are performed at these places. Colourful Kazhchas (procession), fire works and cultural programs are accompanied with these festivals. | ||||
