The institution of Post-graduate departments of Chemistry and Physics and the Bachelor departments of Commerce and Functional Hindi in the years that followed has helped Payyanur College to achieve an envious position the academic map of North Malabar. From the moment of its inception the College has been functioning as an outstanding, secular centre of academic excellence. The College offers instruction in 13 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate courses. Drawing its students from among all the communities of the sprawling Kannur and Kasaragod districts and catering to the secular, democratic, and academic interests of this region, Payyanur College stands out as the mother institution of the intellectual community that spearheads all activities of this region. With its imposing vastness of around 150 acres of land as campus area, the College is both a significant physical and intellectual presence of this part of Kerala. | |||
