BEMLP SCHOOL

B.E.M.L.P. School,  popularly known as “Mission School” to the people of Payyanur was established in 1898 .  This school started as a  small school by  MP  Narayanan Nair , is  considered as the first educational institution at Payyanur. 

Later the school was taken over by Basal Evangelical Mission, an organization setup for the missionary work as well as to give proper education to the public.  The role of Basal Mission as well the schools established by them  al lover  Malabar played a vital role in the literacy of the society. Mission School of Payyanur has contributed a lot of brilliant students as well as experienced and wise teachers to the society.   We cannot leave the name of late  Daniel Master  without mentioning who won the Best Teacher Award from the President of India in 1972   .  The BEMLP School, though only a primary school  with classes from 1^st to 5^th standard  have a remarkable place in the history of Payyanur.
