Azeez Thayineri
Azeez Thayineri is well known all over Kerala for his wonderful performance of various Mappila art forms. He is active in this field for more than three decades. He has performed Mappila-Song Concerts in thousands of venues in and outside the country. He performed Mappila Pattu in AIR for the first time at the age of 19. Later he mastered in Kolkali and formed Sal Sabeel Kalavedi. Sal Sabeel Orchestra (popularly known as SS Orchestra) is very famous all over Kerala. Azeez specialized in “Tharattu pattu” which is usually performed in Muslim houses during various functions related to a newborn child.
