The photographs appearing above are the statue of AKG – made out of brass – weighing approximately 1300 kilograms and 9 feet tall, expected to install at Parliament complex, New Delhi shortly. The statue is a pure depiction of a photograph of AKG taken in 1959, when he was leading a march in Kozhikode protesting against the dismissal of the Kerala Government lead by EMS Namboothiripad by the then Central Government.

Kunhimangalam Narayanan Master, a renowned sculptor and artist envisaged the image of statue. He has also made another statue of AKG – carved in brass – weighing around 300 kilograms, which will be installed at the central committee office of CPI-M at New Delhi. It took 8 months to complete the carving of above statues. Kunhimangalam Narayanan Master has made of lot of landmark statues in and around Kannur district. The Quit India memorial statue in front of the Payyanur registrar’s office, the Gandhiji statue at the Gandhi Mandiram, the AKG statue at Kannur and the statue of Swami Anantha Theertha at Moozhikkara Sree Narayana Guru Mandiram are few among them.
